CarbonCatch Technologies

Creating a greener future through innovations for carbon dioxide related problems.

Our Mission

Carbon Catch Technologies advances next generation solid state carbon capture by integrating chemistry, engineering, and systems design. We develop novel CO₂ binding materials, build efficient capture systems, and create monitoring frameworks to validate performance from laboratory research to real world deployment.

What We Do

At Carbon Catch Technologies, our work bridges organic chemistry, materials engineering, and system design to advance solid-state carbon capture—an emerging field with enormous potential for scalable, low-energy CO₂ removal. Our methods span three interconnected phases: synthesis, testing, and implementation. Each stage informs the next, allowing us to design new materials, assess their performance under real-world conditions, and translate laboratory discoveries into deployable carbon-capture systems.

Meet the Team

CarbonCatch Technologies was founded in 2023 at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, as a group dedicated to mitigating climate change through carbon capture. Our team is extremely interdisciplinary, consisting of environmental engineers, materials engineers, organic chemists, biochemists, electrical engineers, and more. In collaboration with Cal Poly SLO's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department along with the William and Linda Frost Center for Research, CarbonCatch Technologies occupies two lab spaces for engineering testing and lab synthesis.
